It's no secret I'm a huge fan of Maryann Jordan's work including her Baytown Boys Series. Just like with any series, you have your favorites and Picking Up the Pieces is definitely a favorite of mine.

Picking Up the Pieces is the story of Lance Greene, an Army vet, and Jade Lyons, an elementary school teacher. Ironically, they have similar backgrounds. Both come from well-to-do families who don't agree with the paths they've taken and have come to Baytown for a new beginning. They have an adversarial first meeting over their love of sea glass, which definitely doesn't go well.

Lance is suffering from the effects of the horrors of war and uses sea glass to make works of art to help heal his soul. When he meets Jade, he's in a bad place and even though he's drawn to her, he pushes her away. Jade is daunted at first but keeps going back and Lance finally starts to let her in. Their friendship develops into a beautiful romantic relationship and quickly becomes my favorite couples of the series;

I give Picking Up the Pieces 5+ stars and highly recommend it to everyone. Congratulations again, Maryann Jordan on another amazing story!

I just love the Baytown Boys series. I look forward to each new book that comes out because I get to revisit past characters because everyone is part of the series. This book is Lance and Jade’s story and I truly enjoyed how Jade’s love helped Lance realize life is still out there. Perfect amount of romance, suspense and revisiting with past characters and their lives as time goes by. Can’t wait for the next book. I was fortunate to receive this book as an ARC, but will also purchase the book once officially released to help support this awesome author.
Picking up the Pieces is definitely my favorite of the series so far. I am a huge fan of Ms. Jordan's book however this one really touched me. I love this series because she touches on issues of our returning military personnel and focusing on building them up. I love how she brings the American legion into the stories and the auxiliary. Lance and Jade are perfect for each other and watching Lance work through his issues and let Jade in was beautiful. I do enjoy the references and meaning of sea glass and Lance working with sea glass is a beautiful part of the story. 
As always the mystery will have you on the edge of your seat! I always enjoy that about her books you are always guessing and unable to put the book down. Lance and Jade together are sweet and hot and full of the passion you would expect from a Maryann Jordan book! Happy reading!
I loved Picking Up the Pieces! Lance and Jade were truly made for each other! They had similar backgrounds and both were “disappointments “ to their respective families. Nothing could have been further from the truth. They both chose their own path over the ones their parents had chosen for them, but they were both happy with their lives.
Sea glass was featured prominently in this story. Both Jade and Lance loved it and collected it. After Jade found a dead body on the beach and an interview with her was plastered in the media her life was in danger. Lance took the opportunity given him to work part time as an investigator with the police department. Having fallen in love with Jade, keeping her safe became a priority.
I won’t give away any more details, but I will say that this story was one of the sweetest love stories in this series! I’m looking forward to the next book in the series!

The next book in the Baytown Boys series is the story of Lance Greene and Jade Lyons.
Lance a war veteran where he was a Criminal Investigator in the Army and Jade a Teacher.
The first time they meet, Lance was an *ss to her, but he couldn’t get the beautiful green eyes woman out of his head.
Lance makes art out of sea-glass and Jade collects them for her students.
Beautiful book with just the suspense I love.

This series is getting better and better.
Lance is an incredible artist who uses sea glass to create his art. He is not a trained artist but he finds making mobiles and mosaics to be healing. He is a recluse and has demons and nightmares to fight.
He is a bit of an enigma in town as he does keep to himself and guards his privacy. That is until Jade came along.

Jade teaches second graders in Baytown and she uses the sea glass in her class as well as information about the boats in the harbor to broaden her students education about the world. She is light to Lance's dark.

This was a wonderful story and I loved both characters. There was action and intrigue in the story as Jade gets caught up in something sinister after finding a dead body while she was out looking for sea glass on the beach.

Lance is an alpha male and protects Jade when she is targeted. They love story develops rather quickly as each layer is peeled away from their lives. They have a lot in common but some differences as well. The sea glass works it's magic again.

I love reading the description of Baytown and the people in it. Mr. Jordan's descriptive writing makes me want to find the real town that the fictional Baytown is modeled after.

I can't wait to read the next story. I am hooked on the Baytown Boys only now they are men!
